Born Jonathan Nii Laryea; Jonilar is a Ghanaian Blogger,Publicist,Tourist,Brand manager and Entrepreneur from Nungua – a suburb of Accra in the Greater Accra region.
Jonilar is the director of Jonat Tours - a Travel and Tour company and Jonilar.net an online platform that provides quality Public relations, Promotion, Publication, Digital marketing,Content management and communication services to clients with focus on making their brands more visible at all levels.
Early Life and Career
A Tuesday born on 27th October, 1987;Jonathan Nii Laryea is the last of seven children raised in Nungua,Akosombo and Juapong respectively by his parents, Ebenezer Laryea and Aurelia Gadri both of blessed memory.
Jonilar was heavily inspired by his Junior High School Teacher; Mr Emmanuel Akpalu who took him through the basic reading and writing skills.Another motivator is his uncle, Dr Seth Laryea, the former President of Valley View University who in diverse ways impacted greatly in to what he has grown to become.
During his Senior High School education at Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Senior High School at Agona Swedru his love for writing improved. And after Senior High School in 2007, quite a number of his stories were published a couple of times in some well-known Junior High School Magazines like the Child’s Eye and Edu Magazine.
Later the following year, 2008, Jay Brown, a current reporter with Flex Newspaper and a member of a showbiz production team on Pluzz 89.9 Fm; recommended Jonilar as a deserving panel member to the then production team of the Entertainment Review show on Asuogyaman 100.7FM at Akrade near Akosombo. He later joined the production team of the show where he co-produced for a couple of months.
In 2010, whiles schooling at SDA College of Education in Koforidua, Jonilar began his self-produced Entertainment show called, Showbiz GH Radio Show on Koforidua Technical University’s 87.7FM. On the review show, he interviewed the likes of EL, Edem, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Vybrant Faya,Fuse ODG, Gallaxy, Ball J and simultaneously promoted the works of some well-established Ghanaian musicians.
As years went by, the former Deputy Editor of Flex Newspaper, now Entertainment journalist with Citi 97.3FM, Kwame Dadzie in 2012 granted Jonilar to put to display his potential analysis skills as a panel member on his (Kwame’s) Arts and People Review show, an Entertainment Magazine Show on Vision 90.9FM now Nice 90.9FM, in Koforidua which streamed on Voice of America (VOA) – a then affiliated platform to the station. Jonilar later became a co-producer of the show and sometimes hosted the show when the host, Kwame Dadzie is on equally important assignment for the station.
Life as founder and Publicist
In 2012, Jonilar began working with Harbour City Recordz and Harbour City Entertainment the home of Highlife and Afrobeat music group, Gallaxy as a publicist. The music group can best be described as one of Ghana’s prominent groups with numerous nomination and awards both local and international. He has worked with many great organizations both in short and long terms as well as many musicians,organized their media engagements across the country.
